A key executive at Cushman & Wakefield has left to join another firm two weeks after a shakeup at the top of the world’s largest privately held commercial real estate services firm.
Gil Medina has joined CBRE Group, New Jersey’s largest commercial real estate brokerage firm, the company announced yesterday. He was hired as an executive vice president in brokerage services.
The former secretary of Commerce under Gov. Christine Todd Whitman had been executive managing director for Cushman & Wakefield’s New Jersey offices.
“This is an ideal time for Gil to be joining CBRE as his deep vertical expertise is a perfect complement to our broad service platform,” Jeffrey Hipschman, senior managing director, CBRE New Jersey, said in a statement.
Cushman & Wakefield president Ron Lo Russo said in a prepared statement that Medina had “transitioned out,” and that “Cushman & Wakefield is re-evaluating its regional leadership.”
Kim Brennan, senior managing director, will continue to run the firm’s New Jersey operations on a day-to-day basis, Lo Russo said.
